Work permit, Type D visa and residence permit: which documents each stage asks for, the rule behind each line, and how Pakistani papers are apostilled and translated to meet it.

Short answer

The work permit needs only your passport pages with a certified translation and a photo; the employer files the rest. The Type D visa adds a passport valid 3 months beyond your stay, medical insurance of at least EUR 30,000 and proof of funds. Degrees and a police certificate come in when the consul asks, apostilled by MoFA and translated.

Pakistani documents

Apostille and translation, in that order

Every Pakistani public document used in Ukraine takes one MoFA apostille: PKR 3,000 per personal or educational document, 4,500 legal, 12,000 commercial (MoFA SOPs, May 2026, §2.2). Degrees go to HEC first, Matric and Intermediate certificates to IBCC, and the police certificate must be issued by the District Police Officer. After the apostille, the document and its apostille are translated into Ukrainian together, with the translator's signature certified by a notary or a Ukrainian consul. What documents are required for a Ukraine work visa from Pakistan?

For the work permit, your employer files the application, copies of your passport pages with a certified Ukrainian translation, a colour photo, the draft contract and the fee (Law No. 5067-VI, Art. 42-2). For the D-04 visa you lodge at VFS your passport, one 35 × 45 mm photo, medical insurance with at least EUR 30,000 cover, proof of funds, the visa form, the fee and a certified copy of the permit (Resolution No. 118, paras. 5, 8).

Which Pakistani documents need a MoFA apostille for Ukraine?

Public documents that will be used in Ukraine: degrees after HEC, school certificates after IBCC, the police certificate issued by the District Police Officer, Nikah Nama and birth records. The fee is PKR 3,000 per personal or educational document, 4,500 legal and 12,000 commercial (MoFA SOPs, May 2026, §2.2). MoFA does not attest CNIC cards, photographs, invitation letters or insurance papers (§17.1).

Do I need a police certificate for Ukraine?

The work permit and the residence permit lists do not include it. The consul may ask for it, with other documents, at the visa stage (Resolution No. 118, para. 10), so order it to be recent when you lodge the visa file. It is issued by the District Police Officer and apostilled by MoFA.

How much money do I need to show for a Ukrainian visa?

Resolution No. 884 sets it at 20 times Ukraine’s monthly subsistence minimum, divided by 30 and multiplied by your planned days plus 5. A host’s confirmed obligations count toward it, and on the work route the check can cover your ability to earn lawfully in Ukraine (paras. 4, 5, 7).

What is the Ukraine visa fee in Pakistan?

The Embassy of Ukraine in Pakistan charges USD 404 for a D-04 work visa and USD 70 for other Type D grounds, under its tariff in force since 1 August 2024, plus the VFS service charge. All fees, including Pakistani stamps, are in Ukraine visa fees from Pakistan.
