Ukraine Type D visa from Pakistan: process, documents and fee
How the long-stay visa works for Pakistani applicants on any route: which ground document comes first, what goes in the VFS file, what it costs and who decides.
Pakistani citizens need a long-stay Type D visa for work, study or family in Ukraine. You apply through VFS Global in Islamabad, Karachi or Lahore with your ground document, pay USD 404 for a D-04 work visa or USD 70 for most other grounds, and the Embassy decides within 10 working days, or up to 30 with additional checks.

Type C or Type D: which Ukraine visa
A Type C visa is for short visits. For work, study, family reunification or business you need a Type D national visa, and only a Type D visa leads to a temporary residence permit (TRP) after entry. The fee depends on the ground:

The ground document comes first
The consulate issues a Type D visa on the basis of a document from the Ukrainian side, so that document has to exist before you book VFS:
- Work: the work permit your employer obtains from the State Employment Service (decision within 7 working days, Law No. 5067-VI, Art. 42-6). See the full work route.

- Family: the status of the family member already living in Ukraine.
- Business: your Ukrainian company and the ground it gives you: a charter-capital share of at least EUR 100,000 for a founder, or a work permit as its director. See company registration.

Applying at VFS and the Embassy
VFS Global runs Ukraine visa centres in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. It books the appointment, takes the documents and biometrics and charges its service fee in rupees; the consular fee is paid in US dollars at designated Faysal Bank branches. Ukraine visa processing time in Pakistan
The consulate decides within up to 10 working days from receiving the documents, or up to 30 working days when additional checks are needed (Resolution No. 118, para. 19). The longer part of any route is getting the ground document and preparing Pakistani papers; for the work route the stages are timed on the work permit timeline.
If the visa is refused
VFS states that fees are not refunded after a refusal. Before you apply again, check the file for three refusal points: a ground document that cannot be verified, the wrong visa category for the real purpose, or documents that were never legalised. After entry: the residence permit
The visa lets you enter. Your status in Ukraine is the temporary residence permit, filed at the State Migration Service no later than 15 working days before your permitted stay ends; the card is issued within 15 working days of the documents being accepted (Resolution No. 322, paras. 5 and 17).
